‘The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system’.
Gary Craig
Emotional Freedom Techniques is a technique that helps with unresolved emotional issues that are holding the individual back. It helps reduce stress, anxiety and it can allow us to transform the way we respond to uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and troubling memories. It is a form of counselling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine – including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine and Thought Field Therapy.
If you feel anxious, stressed or you would like to resolve a specific issue, EFT can help with that. EFT is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It may also be beneficial for a person before an event that they expect to cause stress or anxiety.
EFT operates on the premise that no matter what part of your life needs improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way. (Gary Craig). The goal isn’t to remove the uncomfortable emotion but to give an appropriate emotional reaction in a situation. For example it is absolutely normal to feel fear when facing a tiger. But the same fear seems exaggerated when facing a difficult conversation, or just doing everyday tasks.
A little bit about EFT
Emotional Freedom Techniques or Tapping solution is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It’s also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. EFT combines the physical benefits of acupuncture with the cognitive benefits of conventional therapy for much faster, more complete treatment of emotional issues, and physical and performance issues.
According to its developer, Gary Craig, a disruption in energy is the cause of all negative emotions and pain. It is believed that restoring this energy balance can relieve symptoms a negative experience or emotion may have caused.
One of the benefits of this technique is that while we discover and unveil some of the core issues of the given problem, you will walk away with a technique that you will be able to apply yourself whenever the need calls for it.

* it isn’t limited to these issues only
How?
You come to the session with a problem, or obstacle you’d like to work on. After looking at it closely, we create a statement to start working with. This beginning statement will help us to uncover what is holding you back and how to get through it.
By tapping on the main points you will notice the shifts in you, and you will feel empowered and free of unpleasant memories causing you to feel stuck.
The tapping is usually done by the practitioner. However, if you wish, you can do the tapping for yourself following the clues from the practitioner.
What to expect from/after the session?
As EFT is using the SUDS (Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale) you will be able to measure the progress and the change. At the end of an EFT session you will notice the difference between how you felt at the beginning of the session and how you feel at the end.
